THE NOVACHORD RESTORATION PROJECT

Phil Cirocco - The synthesizer, guitar and recording studio wizard from NATIONAL RAZOR performs his atmospheric and orchestral sound paintings using the incredible Hammond Novachord. A vintage gargantuan electronic music synthesizer made from 1938 to 1942 by the Hammond Organ and Clock Co. "Coooo" spent an entire year of his life dedicated to completely rebuilding the 500 pound, vastly complex polyphonic synthesizer. The Novachord utilizes 146 vacuum tubes for the various Oscillators, VCAs, LFOs, Envelope Generators, frequency dividers and resonant filters it uses to generate it's unique sound. The Novachord was also used extensively in many horror movie soundtracks from 1939 to 1969.

NATIONAL RAZOR - SHIVER

Their second full length CD release. "Shiver" picks up where "Stem of Thorns" left off, and yet brings even more styles to National Razor's rich repertoire of dark medicine. This CD is more subtle than "Stem of Thorns" but has moments of incredible intensity with the first half featuring the more guitar oriented material that is best compared to a whirling tornado! Beautiful anthems prevail throughout the second half punctuated by the more familiar National Razor credo. This CD documents National Razor evolving into one of the most unique bands and sounds in gothic industrial history.

Their celebrated debut 7" EP "Clear Plastic Day" is legendary in the history of music. One of the former members of LeCause recently discovered a lost cache of brand new CPDs in his attic. Now these rare recordings are available for a short time once again. Engineered and produced by Phil Cirocco. Mastered and cut by the late Pete Helfrich and his wall of Pultechs.
